2014 IEC 61850 Europe

The 2nd annual IEC 61850 Europe conference was a great success.  Participants found it to be a valuable forum to address the information and implementation needs of the end-user TSO and DSO communities.  This year our resident expert, Herb Falk, presented on “Opportunities for extending IEC 61850 across the wider smart grid infrastructure.”  There was an overwhelming positive response to this topic therefore, we are making it available for you to download.

CIM Users Group Meeting

NOV 11-14:  Come join us at the CIM Users Group North American Meeting in Orange County, California.  This year’s focus: “Using CIM to Enable Data Management and Warehousing for Utility Analytics”. The meeting will start on Tuesday, November 11 with the CIM University — a pre-conference CIM tutorial. The official CIMug plenary meetings will begin on Wednesday, November 12 and run through Friday, November 14, including general sessions with utility case stories, new developments in the use of CIM and much more.

2014 OSIsoft T&D Users Group Meeting

OSIsoft T&D Industry Seminar

JUN 11-12:  OSIsoft Transmission & Distribution Industry Seminar – Helsinki, Finland.  The 2014 industry seminar will focus on innovations in electrical grid operations, engineering, maintenance, and more. CIM Users Group Meeting

Heartbleed Vulnerability Update

The Heartbleed vulnerability only affects V1.0.1 through V1.0.1f of OpenSSL. Other versions of
OpenSSL are not affected by Heartbleed. Most existing SISCO products that are installed in operational systems do not use versions of OpenSSL that are vulnerable to Heartbleed.  To read more, CLICK HERE.

SRI 2014: IEEE-IIE-CFE Smart Grid Seminar

The Smart Grid Seminar is part of the XI International Conference on Innovation and Technology Development (CIINDET) 2014 technical program, and includes keynote sessions where staff will meet major national and international companies such as users, designers, service providers and systems consultants and consumers to discuss, analyze and exchange ideas and information on the latest technological advances in Smart Grid topics within the scope of the processes of generation, transmission, distribution and operation of electric power systems.

Ralph Mackiewicz – VP, Business Development at SISCO, will participate in the panel session scheduled for April 4 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm and present  “The Importance of Model-Driven Standards for Smart Grid Communications and Integration – Today and Tomorrow”.  He will also lead a two-day seminar on “IEC Standards for the Smart Grid: Understanding CIM, ICCP-TASE.2 and IEC”  scheduled for Monday, March 31 – Tuesday, April 1.   To view the agenda, CLICK HERE.
